Professionally, I’m a freelance writer with bylines at InStyle Magazine, L’Officiel USA, Pop Sugar, Business Insider, Fashion Magazine Italia, and Girls’ Life Magazine. At InStyle, I specialize in celebrity and pop culture. I do this by creating bite-sized news pieces about trending stars and their family dynamics.
For an international perspective, I write a column for Fashion Magazine Italia, a B2B print and digital publication titled ‘Mail from New York’, where I discuss fashion and culture from an American Gen Z perspective and interview key designers. Notably, I spoke with Eugenia Kim, a longstanding New York designer. Moreover, to keep a foot in unbridled youth, I also write for Girls’ Life Magazine. In this freelance print role, I curate pieces rooted in life, mental health, and family that are relatable to teen girls.
Lastly, I’m a Co-Founder and Co-Editor-in-Chief of La Mode Virtuoso, a Gen Z-led fashion magazine. In this role, I write, edit, manage social media, attend social events such as New York and Paris Fashion Week, liaise with PR, and aim to create a vibrant, successful publication.
The critical skills I gained from my experiences at InStyle Magazine, Fashion Magazine Italia, L’Officiel USA, PS, Business Insider, Musée, etc are a foundation in strong SEO, relationships with brands and public relations, effective communication, quick turnaround on same-day assignments and deadline-based articles, and an accurate voice for each publication.
Looking ahead in my career, I plan to gain additional critical skills that reflect the editorial and fashion industries. I will accomplish this by writing, attending industry events, and fostering my relationships.
